Madden’s on Gull Lake-Something for Everybody
Madden’s Offers a Great Minnesota Golf Vacation
Madden’s on Gull Lake golf resort has everything covered. Whether you are a novice golfer or an avid one, planning a meeting or a vacation, getting together for a summertime family reunion or a wedding, looking for some quiet time or a rousing buddy trip destination, Madden’s is the spot. It has something for everyone.
Madden’s features 63 holes of golf, and golfers of any age and ability will find a place to play. The Pine Breach East course was designed in the late 1920s by James Dalgleish, a Scottish golf course designer. He created six par 3s on the course, which makes for some fun shot-making. But if you fear the course isn’t long enough, there is always the unique 6th hole, which is a par-6 that measures out at 618 yards from the back tees. You might get to use your driver more than once on that one.
On the other side of the equation is Pine Beach West, which is 5,000 yards and a par 67. A course built in the 1960s, it perfectly accommodates the demands of the modern-day golfer–quick to get around, but challenging to score.
The resort’s championship gem is The Classic, Minnesota’s only 5-Star Top 100 golf course. Designed by Madden’s director of golf Scott Hoffmann, The Classic’s elevation changes that reach 60-feet, offer views of the northern woods you shouldn’t miss.
For the less initiated golfers. Madden’s features The Social 9, which is a perfect place for juniors and beginners in your group to play a short round. But there is a challenge for other players as well, as the small greens require a well-honed short game to score. Some use it as a warm-up for The Classic, while for others, the Social 9 is a great place to settle golf wagers.
Family is what Madden’s is all about, from the luxurious and spacious accommodations to the numerous activities on site. Madden’s includes manicured croquet lawns, lawn-bowling, sand volleyball, horseshoes, badminton, and shuffleboard, There are five swimming pools (two outdoor, three indoor) with whirlpools and saunas, a kid’s wading pool, outdoor hot tub overlooking Gull Lake, a 15-person hot tub, a Gull Lake waterpark with trampolines and water toys.
If you are attending a business meeting at Madden’s (which can host meetings, retreats, and conferences ranging in size from four to 800), it is also a great place to let off some steam. Try the exercise facility, go trapshooting, or head to the relaxing spa–there is even a naturalist on site who will entertain and educate. Madden’s also has three sand beaches with more than a mile of shoreline and a fully equipped marina offering all types of watercraft.
That shoreline is the perfect spot for some after-wedding photos, or just to line up that group shot at your next family reunion. Anytime spent along the shores of Gull Lake will create memories for a lifetime.
